Beloved, when you think that you’re losing the battle…
Just remember that, with Christ, the battle has already been won.

“Do not desire her beauty in your heart, and do not let her capture you with her eyelashes;” - Proverbs 6:25
A few months I witnessed and also experienced the consequences of unintentionally (and intentionally) leading a man of God of on. I could actually make this post toward both men and women but I feel like this needs to be directed towards women of God. The reason I say that is because even though a lot us us women won’t admit it - we tend to be very NEEDY. “What’d you say, shae?”
NEEDY.
I mean lets be honest with ourselves because until we are we can never experience the transforming power of God in certain areas of our lives. You know what areas I’m talking about…the trouble areas. The areas that we keep to ourselves and don’t speak about - yeah, the secret areas.
Let me just outline some of the things we tend to do as women in order to get a man to notice us (aka leading a man on). These are just red flags we need to notice in our lives, if we find ourselves doing any of the following we first need to repent. Along with repentance we need to ask the Lord to purge us of these ungodly characteristics.
1. You get extra dolled up in order to catch his eye
First, there is nothing wrong with being dolled up. I love getting dolled up and feeling all pretty-ful and feminine. However there’s a difference between getting dolled up because that’s what you normally do when you go somewhere. Then what’s the problem? The problem lies in getting dolled up because you either know or heard a certain someone (you had your eye on) was going to end up being in the same place as you.
2. Completely changing your standards and interests to reflect the person you wish to be with.
I’ve done this and I see it all the time, we really need to get a grip on life! You would think that for a lot of us this would be a huge red flag but it’s not because we reason ourselves out of accepting the truth. “Oh I’ve always like this artist…I’ve always wanted to watch this movie he suggested I just never had the time until now…that was always my favorite Bible verse I just never read it…”
How silly do we sound?
Moving on, here’s the funny thing about changing your interests, views, and standards to attract the opposite sex - IT NEVER WORKS. You find out he likes someone who cooks, you cook for him (even though you’re not his wife -_-) and guess who he marries?! Someone who CAN’T COOK!
We can’t manipulate our way into a mans heart and if we ever manage to do so - it will fail and won’t last long. Why? Manipulation is literally being in rebellion to God.
Manipulation - to negotiate, control, or influence (something/someone) cleverly, skillfully, or deviously.
Rebellion is likened to witchcraft; “for rebellion is like the sin of divination [witchcraft], and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has rejected you as king.” - 1 Samuel 15:23
3. JOKING AND FLIRTING
So clearly there’s nothing wrong with joking but usually when women joke with men that they even just remotely like, there is normally always a flirty tone to the jokes. A virtuous woman of God DOES NOT FLIRT. Yes, I know I’ll get messages about this saying how harmless it is. Before you start ranting and raving lets see what the dictionary says about flirting and then maybe - just maybe you’ll start to see how dangerous flirting is.
Flirting - to court triflingly (with little or no significance - insignificant) or act amorously without serious intentions; play at love. To trifle or toy, as with an idea.
and to top it off a synonym for flirting is A TEASE.
Who wants to be known as a tease? I know I don’t…
So how do we avoid getting caught up in leading someone on or astray and even guard ourselves from potentially getting hurt as well?
It all goes back to being a heart issue, these are matters of the heart and when dealing with matters of the heart - instead of pointing the finger at everyone else we need to point the finger at ourselves. Asking the Lord to convict us of any willful sin that’s currently in our lives and to rebuke and correct us when we stray from His godly standard of what a woman of God should be. So that one day we will hear the Lord say to us, “The Lord bless you, my daughter - This kindness is greater than that which you showed earlier: You have not run after the younger men, whether rich or poor. And now my daughter, don’t be afraid. I will do for you all you ask. All my fellow townsmen know that you are a woman of noble character.”

I have a very happy memory of my childhood days. Aaaaagh! It feels good to reminisce of all of them, both good and bad. :>
Jesus, can you give me one that encourages me in the Lord and that I can just have fun with? No emotions, no replacing, just a solid Christ-centered friendship. I miss having a close guy friend.
